3. How do I watch video on WCPO.com?
WCPO.com streams video and audio in the Real format.
You need the latest RealPlayer or better to watch video and listen to audio streams on WCPO.com.
Please visit the WWW.REAL.COM to download the RealPlayer.
Real offers a FREE version of their player, but the link can be sometimes hard to find on Real's Web site. You only need the FREE player to use WCPO.com's video and audio.
When downloading the FREE RealPlayer, please make sure your computer meets the requirements to run the program.
In addition, our lowest quality stream is encoded for 28.8 modems. The video will not work with slower connection speeds. The quality will improve, however, if you have a higher connection speed.
We stream WCPO's newscasts live and then archive them so you can watch them on demand. We also offer live streams of special events.
Check out the video/audio section of WCPO.com for more information. Click here.
Why does the video look "blotchy?"- WCPO.com does encode video in G2 Real for 28.8, 56k and ISDN speed connections, but the quality of streaming video on the Internet has not yet reached the quality of video available through television.

7. How do I find WCPO.com on America Online?
WCPO.com is not available on America Online as a separate service. You can, however, access WCPO.com through AOL. To do so, please go to AOL's Internet browser and type "http://www.wcpo.com" in the window.
In newer versions of AOL, there is a long white text input box on the screen at all times. This where you can type in "http://www.wcpo.com" (without the apostrophes!) to visit our site.

8. Why am I seeing old pages on my screen?
You are probably viewing a page which was "cached" on your computer. If your computer caches a document, it prevents the browser from reloading each page. Since the old document is now stored on your computer's hard drive, it will not seek out the latest page each time you visit our site.
To make sure you are not viewing a "cached" page, first try pressing the "Reload" or "Refresh" button. By doing so, you're asking your browser to request the latest page from our site. If that does not solve the problem and you see the same page, you need to "clear the cache."
Clearing the cache is different for each browser. Regardless of the browser, please look to the top of the browser for some pull down menus. If you're using Internet Explorer 4.0 select View -> Internet Options -> General. Choose Temporary Internet Files and Delete Files. If you're a Netscape 3 user, click on Options -> Network Preferences -> Cache. Then click on Clear Memory Cache Now and Clear Disk Cache Now. With Internet Explorer 3, choose View -> Options -> Advanced -> Temporary Internet Files -> Settings, and click on Empty Folder. If you're using Netscape 4 for Windows, select Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Cache.

13. Do you mind if I put WCPO.com video or a WCPO.com story or video clip on my blog/personal webpage/business web page?
We're flattered, but we do not permit placing WCPO.com content on outside websites unless there is explicit written permission from WCPO.com.
Due to rights issues, we do not permit websites to stream our video clips directly. Instead, we ask for outside sites to link directly to our stories. Our video and story archives do not expire, so you can keep the link up as long as you'd like.
Consequently, we don't tolerate it when folks steal our content and post it elsewhere. Instead, we ask for a link back to our site.

14. A WCPO.com e-mail newsletter, Weather Warn bulletin or other alert arrived late to my e-mail/pager/cell phone. Whose fault is this?
It is often the case when someone receives a delayed e-mail/pager/cell phone message from WCPO.com that although the message was sent in a timely fashion, the mail server on the receiving end somehow delayed delivery.
Regardless, we strive to provide great services, so if you receive a tardy message, we'd like to check it out with our technical folks to make sure the alert wasn't mistakenly sent out late.
In order to check with our technical folks, please let us know what specific message was tardy, when you received it and what your provider is (ISP if e-mail, pager company if pager, and phone company if cell phone.) Send the information through our online feedback form.
